Brass ball valve
Brass has the largest market . Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and has good mechanical properties. Brass valves are used for (drinking) water, gas, oil, air and many other media. Chloride solutions (e.g. seawater) or demineralized water may cause dezincification. Dezincification is a form of corrosion where which zinc is removed from the alloy. This creates a porous structure with a greatly decreased mechanical strength. A brass housing is ideal for an air ball valve.
Ball Valve - How They Work
A ball valve is a shut off valve that controls the flow of a liquid or gas by means of a rotary ball having a bore. By rotating
the ball a quarter turn (90 degrees) around its axis, the medium can flow through or is blocked. They are characterized by a long service life and provide a reliable sealing over the life span, even when the valve is not in use for a long time. Ball valves are more resistant against contaminated media than most other types of valves. In special versions, ball valves are also used as a control valve. This application is less common due to the relatively limited accuracy of controlling the flow rate in comparison with other types of control valves. However, the valve also offers some advantages here. For example, it still ensures a reliable sealing, even in the case of dirty media.

Brass ball valves
Select and buy a manual 2-way brass ball valve online for your application. The 2-way brass ball valve is one of the most common valves on the market. It has a brass housing and 2 ports, an inlet and an outlet, and a ball with a bore in it. They are operated by a manual hand lever to turn the ball 90 degrees, which is why they are often called quarter turn ball valves or shut off valves. Simply turn the handle perpendicular to the pipe to close it and parallel to open it. Due to the brass housing and simple design, they are known for their simple operation, reliability, long service life, and wide range of application uses. The brass housing makes it suitable for water, compressed air, oils, non-aggressive media, and much more. They commonly have water or gas approvals and due to their threaded connection they are easy to install.
Other main selection criteria for manual 2-way brass ball valves include: connection size, seal material, pressure rating, and temperature rating.

* Threaded ball valves allow for quick and easy installation into existing piping or components with matching threads. Both male and female thread combinations are available.

Brass housing
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc and has great mechanical properties. Brass ball valves are known for their durability and no leakage over their life span, even if they have not been used for a long period of time. These brass ball valves can be used with drinking water, gas, mineral oils, compressed air and many other non-aggressive media. But they are not suitable for use with salt water or distilled water due to the risk of dezincification. Dezincification reduces the mechanical strength of the brass by causing the zinc to be removed from the alloy resulting in a porous structure. However, brass ball valves are more resistant against contaminated media as compared to other types of housing material and provide reliable sealing even in case of dirty media.
They can withstand high pressure, high temperature and high flow rates. They are also economical due to their simple and robust design, low cost and low maintenance needs. Due to these advantages, brass ball valves are used in a wide range of residential and industrial applications. Some common application includes controlling domestic hot and cold water systems, steam applications, irrigation system, natural gas system, marine industries, fire protection application, chemical industries, etc.
